It has been about 10 months since me and my wife(then fiancé) have been Youth Directors. We had been the Youth Directors for almost two years when the church decided it wasn't going to have a youth group. When we heard the news I didn't really mind. We were busy with wedding plans and tired of some of the things going on. I was actually somewhat happy that we were no longer Youth Directors, although I felt bad for the youth.
We didn't technique have a youth group; it was more of an outreach. Most of the youth didn't attend church or have families to support them in that way. Youth group was the only place most of them were hearing the gospel and learning the Bible. All we could do was hope and pray that we had taught them something and they could grow on their own now.
In the last few months I have been missing the ministry more and more. Sure there was a lot of it I didn't enjoy, but in the end it was worth it. I am far from a outgoing social person, I'm actually quite introverted, but I loved to see the youth learning and having fun. I miss planning meetings and events. I miss the crazy last minute meetings to bake food for the bake sale the next morning. I miss the winter retreats to Camp Sentinel. I miss the debates over Bible lessons. I miss all the crazy games we played. I miss seeing that look when something clicks with one of the youth after a deep lesson or conversation. I miss being able to be there for the youth.
I have tried to come up with some ideas of how to get back into youth ministry and haven't found an answer yet. I am always trying to come up with ways to find work that honors God, although, many times I catch myself thinking selfishly. I know God has a plan and I don't know what it is, but I can’t wait to see where it will take me.

Day 7 - Tuesday - Clean-ing it up!
Hello Everyone!
Today I cleaned! A much needed cleaning. Our room hasn't been cleaned for a few weeks now. It has actually been quite the opposite, it has been filling up with stuff. Now a lot of this stuff is wedding related and will all be going away this weekend. Although it is still not finished and wont be until after the wedding, I now have some very happy fish and wife.
You might have noticed that I missed my blog yesterday. I was hoping to do one but by the time I got around to it I just passed out. I started the day working at 6am. When I got out of work we went to concord with our friend Angela. We then spent the day shopping for wedding things and stuff. When we got home it was already late, but we decided to watch The NeverEnding Story. I have never seen it,and still haven't. About a half hour, maybe less into the movie I fell asleep, and I was out. My plan was to write a blog after about the movie, but oh well.
I hope to have more fun stories in the coming days! Goodnight!

Day 5 - Sun Day - Shower-ing it up!
Hello Everyone!
Today was my sisters bridal shower! It was a wonderful day. There was a bride, but there wasn't a shower, why is it called a shower anyways? Well I guess a shower of gifts? shower of love? shower of delicious noms? Anyways It was a great time. Now your probably wondering, what were you doing at a bridal shower? Well I don't really know. I was technically the photographer and I also helped with food. I am used to it now, I always seem to be the only guy for some reason.
It was a great day and a lot of work! Much food was baked, many decorations were hung, and much fun was had. Now I will sleep... Goodnight... Zzzz...

Day 3 - Fry - Miniature-ing it up!
Hello Everyone!
I like miniature things! I came to this realization thanks to my wife's boss. I was painting a miniature ceramic scene at my wife's work. There was a canvas painting class going on and I was painting my ceramic scene instead. Her boss was talking about the paintings and then she said "and then we have Mr. Miniature Man over there doing his own thing." Then it hit me, I like miniature things. I have always known I liked miniature things but I had never thought of it like that.
Let's talk about some of the miniature things I like! We can start off with how I discovered my miniature obsession with miniature scenes! So far all the ceramics I have painted have been useful things, like bowls, cups, and plates, or.... Miniature scenes! I have painted two scenes so far and I have a big mug with a mountain scene on it.
The next thing is my little side business thing-a-ma-jig, SceniCreations! This one is easy to explain because, well... I make miniature things. I make table top waterfalls, miniature scenes, game pieces, and other little things. If you want you can check it out at www.facebook.com/SceniCreations . I hope that link is right, seeing as I can't go on Facebook to check. You should all surprise me with a bunch of suggestions on there when I get back on Facebook!
I also like to take pictures! When you take a picture you are capturing a miniature image of something. You can take a picture of a massive mountain range and print it out into a 4x5 photo. It's a little more abstract than the other things, but it is still miniature. Although you could print out a picture full size or bigger, lets just stick with normal sizes to keep things miniature.
I also like playing board games! most board games have something miniature in them. There are miniature people, miniature houses, miniature countries! A lot of board games take something real and shrink it down into a miniature form that you can play. Risk is a miniature earth with miniature wars. Life is a miniature version of well... life. Monopoly is a miniature version of real estate, economics, and things.
Well that enough miniature things for today! I hope you enjoy some miniature things too!

Day 2 - Thursday - Maple-ing it up!
Hello Everyone!
Today I tapped some maple trees! It's too cold to be running yet but we are ready to go! Fun fact, 40 gallons of maple sap boils down to about 1 gallon of maple syrup! I also dug out the sled we use when we collect the sap. Maple syrup is amazing... that is all.
Just for fun everyone who comments on this post will get a little bottle of maple syrup!(if I have a way of getting it to you.)

Day 1 - Ash Wednesday - Lent-ing it up!
Hello Everyone!
It has been a while since I have blogged, I say that a lot. I hope I won't be saying it in the next 40 days though! I am going to attempt to do a blog a day for the next forty days(Yes that is Lent)! I might do more and hopefully I don't do less.
I have never really been into the giving up or doing something for Lent, but this year I will give it a try! First off I am not using Facebook. I have blocked it on my computer and I removed the app from my phone. I waste too much time on there doing nothing so this should be good for me. Second I have Reddit blocked from midnight until 4pm. This should also help me keep from wasting time on there during the day.
The next this my Wife and I are doing together. It is called 40 Bags in 40 Days. The point it to help declutter and get rid of things you don't need. Each day you try to clean a area of your house and get rid of one bag of stuff. The size of the bag doesn't matter, as long as you are getting rid of things you don't need. We are going to collect the stuff we get rid of into four boxes. One to sell, one to donate, one to give away, and one to throw away.
As of now those are my challenges for Lent! Lets see where it goes!
